About our School & Adventist Education

The Edinburgh Adventist Primary School relocated to brand new premises and opened its doors for classes on Monday July 10, 2000. Located on the corner of Edinburgh and Allenby Roads in the leafy suburb of Lilydale Victoria, the school caters to students from Prep to Grade 6, however the school's close relationship with the Edinburgh Early Learning Centre www.edinburghelc.com.au and Lilydale Adventist Academy www.laa.edu.au provides the option for students to enjoy uninterrupted education from age 3 through to Year 12 on the same campus. Currently the Primary campus has a total enrolment of 160 students.

The Seventh-day Adventist Education System was established in the late nineteenth century and is now the second largest private school system in the world.

Like the SDA Church itself, the school system is represented in 203 of the 228 countries recognized by the United Nations. It is made up of 5,005 primary schools, 1,214 secondary schools and 99 colleges and universities with a total enrolment of 1,185,316 (world statistics for 2001 - SDA Church Yearbook 2003 Edition, p.4).

Adventist Education Australia operates some 48 schools, which in turn employ over 800 teaching staff, and cater to the educational needs of around 12,000 pupils (for further information on Adventist Education in Australia, click on www.adventist.edu.au).

Adventist Schools aim to educate the whole person by paying careful attention to the social, mental, emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of each individual. We seek to nurture students in a Christian environment and to empower them to be responsible citizens with the necessary initiative, resilience and independence to face the challenges in today's fast changing world with confidence and serenity.

Our schools are coeducational and welcome students from all religious and cultural backgrounds.
